Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia has announced the opening of bookings for the soon-to-be-launched Jaecoo J5 SUV model.
With an estimated selling price of around RM120,000, the Jaecoo J5 is set to invigorate the SUV segment in Malaysia.
The Jaecoo J5 is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-four engine, producing 147 PS and 210 Nm of torque.
This engine is paired with a CVT transmission, offering fuel consumption of approximately 7.5 liters per 100 km.
The J5 competes with B-segment SUV models in the market, such as the Chery Tiggo Cross, Chery Omoda 05, Proton X50, and Honda HR-V.
The vehicle measures 4,380 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, 1,650 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,620 mm.
It offers a cargo space of 480 liters, which can expand to 1,180 liters when the second-row seats are folded in a 60:40 split.
The J5 features a unique suspension setup, consisting of MacPherson struts in the front and a multi-link arrangement in the rear.
In terms of cabin space, it includes amenities such as an 8-inch LCD cluster screen, a 13.2-inch 2K resolution infotainment screen, Wi-Fi support, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an 8-speaker audio system.
Safety features also include Level 2.5 ADAS and a 540-degree surround camera system.
Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia Achievements
Since its debut in 2024, Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia has continued to record impressive achievements.
In its first year, more than 7,040 units were sold, with that figure soaring to 17,849 units in 2025, marking an increase of over 153 percent.

The delivery of the 20,000th vehicle was commemorated at an exclusive event themed “20,000 and Beyond: A Celebration of Trust,” held at the Blossom Glass Mansion in Kuala Lumpur.
Over 100 guests attended the event, which also witnessed the handover of a Jaecoo J7 PHEV to its new owner, Khirdzir Ali.
“Like many others, I am truly honored to be part of this remarkable achievement with the delivery of the 20,000th Omoda | Jaecoo vehicle in Malaysia. It is immensely gratifying to see how quickly this brand has grown and the positive response it has received from drivers in Malaysia,” Khirdzir stated.
He also expressed his eagerness to enjoy the comfort and efficiency of the new J7 PHEV with his family.
In addition to family-friendly activities and the exhibition of the soon-to-be-launched Jaecoo J5 model, a J7 AWD owned by Irene Tee, which has recorded a mileage of 70,000 km in less than a year, was also showcased.
