Honda Malaysia leads non-national passenger car segment for 12 consecutive years

Honda Malaysia continues to lead the passenger car segment in Malaysia for 12 consecutive years.

Throughout 2025, Honda successfully sold 72,301 vehicles, capturing a market share of 8.8 percent.

 

Honda HR-V is the Best-Selling Model

Among the total sales, the Honda HR-V emerged as the best-selling model, accounting for 25 percent of total sales, followed closely by the City (24 percent) and the CR-V (15 percent).

Honda Malaysia also made significant contributions from e:HEV variants, with the HR-V and CR-V together representing over 30 percent of total hybrid vehicle sales.

Narushi Yazaki, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Malaysia, stated, “I would like to express my appreciation to our customers for their continued confidence and unwavering trust in the Honda brand.

The sales performance in 2025 further reinforces our confidence in Honda’s product direction and our commitment to providing practical electrification solutions.”

First Hybrid Model Launched 21 Years Ago

He added, “As we celebrate 21 years (2004–2025) since the introduction of our hybrid technology, strengthening the presence of hybrid models in key segments remains a priority.

By integrating advanced hybrid technology, we aim to offer a more exhilarating and satisfying driving experience for our customers. We are committed to driving long-term growth and supporting a more sustainable future for the Honda brand.”

The first hybrid model introduced by Honda in the Malaysian market was the Honda Civic Hybrid in 2004.

Final Winners Announced for the Because of You Campaign

The Because of You campaign launched in October 2025 to commemorate the 25th anniversary, has reached its conclusion.

Four lucky winners were announced last year, and today Honda revealed the final two winners for December 2025.

Cheah Wei Kong from Selangor won a City 1.5L RS after purchasing a Honda e:N1. Meanwhile, Muhammad Syabil bin Muzafar from Perak won an HR-V 1.5L Turbo V after buying a Civic 1.5L Turbo V.

Honda Malaysia celebrates November winners of its 25th anniversary ‘Because of You’ campaign

Honda Malaysia continued its 25th anniversary celebrations by announcing the winners for November of its “Because of You” campaign.

The prizes, a Civic 1.5L RS and a CR-V 2.0L e:HEV RS, were handed over to the lucky winners at the dealers.

Mr. Zulkeffli bin Abdul Rahman from Negeri Sembilan, who purchased the HR-V 1.5T V as a second car for his family, was extremely happy to learn of his win. He was unable to attend the ceremony and his daughters, Ms. Nuramirah Binti Zulkeffli and Ms. Nuratikah Binti Zulkeffli, accepted the key to the prize on his behalf.

“Honda really rewards their customers. As an existing Honda owner, I already know how reliable and safe the cars are, and how easy it is to maintain, with authorised service centres available almost everywhere. I have always trusted the Honda brand, so it was an automatic first choice for me when I was looking for a second family car. Now, I not only have a brand-new SUV, but also a newly won Civic 1.5L RS in my driveway alongside my City. My family is thrilled, and we can’t wait for our next family road trip. My family and I feel extremely grateful and excited for this amazing reward, ” said Mr. Zulkeffli.

Mr. Mohamad Farees Rahimi bin Ab Kadir from Johor was completely taken by surprise when he was announced as one of the two winners for November 2025 under Honda Malaysia’s “Because of You” campaign.

He said, “Winning this award-winning CR-V e:HEV RS is truly beyond my expectations. It honestly feels like a blessing! I purchased the City Hatchback RS because it is compact, easy to drive and packed with practical features. I had it in mind that I might upgrade to an SUV one day. The CR-V is spacious, comfortable, and comes with so many features that suit my needs perfectly. Now, I have the option of driving around in a sporty hot hatch or enjoying a more premium SUV drive with my family. It is a wonderful way to wrap up 2025 and look forward to 2026!”

Honda Malaysia had earlier announced its first two winners for the City Hatchback RS and WR-V RS.

With the announcement of the Civic 1.5L RS and CR-V 2.0L e:HEV RS, two grand prizes remain to be unveiled in conjunction with the Company’s 25th Anniversary “Because of You” campaign lucky draw.
