2025 GAC M8 PHEV officially launched – two variants, from RM328,800

WTC Automotive (M) Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of the GAC brand in Malaysia, has announced the retail price for the plug-in hybrid MPV model, the GAC M8 PHEV 2025.

The GAC M8 PHEV is available in two variants:

  • Premium – RM328,800
  • Luxury – RM388,800

Customers who place their orders before December 31, 2025, will receive a portable charging cable and a complimentary two-year maintenance package, valued at RM3,800.

The M8 PHEV is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo engine paired with a single electric motor and a two-speed hybrid DHT transmission.

The total power output reaches 372 PS with a torque of 630 Nm.

With a battery pack of 25.57 kWh and a fuel tank capacity of 56 liters, the M8 PHEV can travel up to 1,038 km.

There are three intelligent driving modes: Intelligent Hybrid, All-Electric First, and Power Reservation, supported by features such as the Adaptive Vehicle Dynamic Control System and Electromagnetic Damping Suspension.

In addition, the GAC M8 PHEV offers features like:

  • LED headlights
  • 18-inch alloy wheels with self-adjusting covers
  • Adjustable second and third-row seats up to 480 mm
  • Air conditioning system with Cool-Sense technology
  • Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS)
  • Full Automatic Parking Assist (FAPA)
  • Rear curtain airbags as part of a 360-degree airbag system

 

The GAC M8 PHEV comes with a five-year manufacturer warranty or a mileage limit of 150,000 km, as well as an eight-year battery warranty or a mileage limit of 150,000 km (whichever comes first).

2025 GAC Emkoo officially launched – starting from RM123,800

WTC Automotif (M) Sdn Bhd (WTCA), the official distributor of GAC in Malaysia, today launched the all-new 2025 GAC Emkoo SUV.

The GAC Emkoo is the second locally assembled (CKD) model available in two main variants: Premium and Premium Pro.

Early customers will enjoy a special offer featuring a cash rebate of RM4,000, as well as a complimentary accessories package valued at RM10,000, which includes:

  • Front and rear DVR camera complete with a 64 GB micro SD card
  • Exclusive Emkoo plates
  • Cargo tray
  • Sports pedals

WTCA is also offering a Vkool Solar Tint package and an electric tailgate for the Premium variant, as well as Vkool Security Tint for the Premium Pro variant, limited to the first 500 owners.

Engine

This SUV is powered by a 1.5 TGDI engine that produces 177 PS @ 5,500 rpm and torque of 270 Nm @ 1,400-4,500 rpm, paired with a seven-speed DCT transmission.

Acceleration from 0-100 km/h is achieved in just 8.8 seconds, with a maximum speed of 190 km/h.

Three driving modes are available: Economy, Comfort, and Sport. The fuel consumption rate is approximately 6.6 liters/100 km.

 

Exterior

Features of the GAC Emkoo include MacPherson front suspension and a multi-link setup at the rear, LED lighting complete with a Follow-me-Home function, 19-inch alloy wheels, 235/55 R19 tires, and embedded door handles.

It also showcases a V-shaped design on the aggressive front grille, LED “Eye of Revelation” lights, and a turbojet-style exhaust design at the rear, contributing to a sportier appearance.

Notably, this SUV offers a drag coefficient as low as 0.317 Cd.

 

Interior Features

The cockpit of the GAC Emkoo is equipped with a 10.25-inch digital cluster display, a 10.1-inch central screen, Apple CarPlay (wireless) and Android Auto support, as well as a head-up display (HUD).

The center console features a crystal gear shift knob and a wireless smartphone charging slot.

The cargo space measures a generous 638 liters and can reach up to 1,586 liters with the second-row seats folded.

 

Safety Features

As standard, the GAC Emkoo is equipped with six airbags, ISOFIX anchor points, ABS, EBD, Hill Start Assist, a 360-degree camera system, and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

The Level 2 ADAS package includes features such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Traffic Jam Assist (TJA), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Keeping Assistance (LKA), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), and Rear Collision Warning (RCW).

The Premium Pro variant also includes Full Automatic Parking Assistance (FAPA) as an exclusive feature.

The GAC Emkoo is available in five attractive colors: Super Star Silver, Graphite Grey, Frost White, Asphalt Black, and the new Star Lake Green.

GAC Emkoo earns 5-star rating from ASEAN NCAP

ASEAN NCAP has announced that GAC’s latest SUV, the 2025 Emkoo has received a five-star rating in its new vehicle assessment tests.

Based on the evaluation, the GAC Emkoo achieved an overall score of 84.96 points, assessed across the following four categories:

  • Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) – 37.88/40.00
  • Child Occupant Protection (COP) – 16.01/20.00
  • Safety Assistance (SA) – 18.57/20.00
  • Motorcycle Safety (MS) – 12.50/20.00

 

The model, manufactured in Malaysia and China, comes standard with key safety features, including six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Seat Belt Reminder (SBR) for both front and rear passengers.

Additionally, it includes advanced safety features such as Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keeping Assistance (LKA), Automatic High Beam (AHB), and Pedestrian Protection (PP).

Depending on the variant, the GAC Emkoo is also equipped with Blind Spot Detection (BSD) technology and a Rear Passenger Reminder.

For the Malaysian market, the GAC Emkoo will be launched soon and will be available in two variants: Premium (priced from RM120,000) and Premium Pro (from RM130,000).

Datuk Remy Ishak appointed as GAC Malaysia Brand Ambassador

GAC Malaysia welcomes renowned actor and personality Datuk Remy Ishak as its newest brand ambassador.

Datuk Remy Ishak will join existing ambassador Jack Lim to continue representing the GAC brand as part of the preparations for the launch of two new models: the GAC Emkoo and GAC M8 PHEV.

According to Tan Keng Meng, Chief Executive Officer of Warisan TC Holdings Bhd, “Throughout the initial journey of GAC Malaysia, Jack Lim has played a crucial role in introducing this brand to new audiences.”

The GAC Emkoo is a C-segment SUV and is the second model assembled as a CKD by GAC after the GS3 Emzoom.

It is powered by a 1.5-liter turbo engine capable of producing 177 PS at 5,500 rpm and 270 Nm at 1,400-5,000 rpm, paired with a seven-speed DCT transmission.

There will be two variants available: the Premium, with an estimated price starting from RM120,000, and the Premium Pro, starting from RM130,000.

The first group of GAC Emkoo owners will receive their units by the end of September 2025, or possibly earlier.

The second model to be launched by GAC Malaysia is the luxurious GAC M8 PHEV MPV.

Fully imported from China, the M8 PHEV is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo engine (190 PS/300 Nm) paired with a two-speed hybrid transmission, a 182 PS/300 Nm electric motor, and a 25.57 kWh battery pack.

Overall, this MPV can generate a total power output of 373 PS and 630 Nm, with acceleration performance of 0-100 km/h in 8.8 seconds.

On a full tank of fuel, the GAC M8 PHEV can offer a driving range of up to 1,038 km.

There are two variants: the M8 Premium, with an estimated price of RM333,000, and the M8 Luxury variant priced at RM380,000.

GAC, AION 3S centre now opens in Glenmarie

WTC Automotif (M) Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Warisan TC Holdings, officially opened a top-notch 3S exhibition center showcasing the GAC and AION brands in Glenmarie.

The GAC showcase room spans 456 square meters, accommodating three vehicles for display, while the AION showcase room covers 644 square meters, housing customer lounge areas and display spaces for up to six cars.

Both showcase rooms operate seven days a week from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM on weekdays, closing at 6:00 PM on Saturdays and 5:00 PM on Sundays and public holidays.

Meanwhile, the GAC and AION Glenmarie service center spans 10,878 square meters, featuring 10 work bays supported by certified technicians, service consultants, and after-sales support teams.

The service center operates from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Saturday only.

There are special play areas for children, a coffee lounge, and a dedicated space for exclusive GAC and AION merchandise.

In conjunction with the Deepavali celebration, the GAC & AION Glenmarie exhibition center will host a special event on October 26-27 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM where customers can test drive the latest lineup and experience demonstrations of various modern features present in GAC and AION models.

Customers can also view the showcased standard variant of the GAC GS3 EMZOOM, as well as the debut of the AION Hyptec HT electric SUV displaying ‘falcon’ rear doors.

GAC GS3 Emzoom Standard launched, all 3 variants are now locally assembled

WTCA Automotif, a subsidiary of Warisan TC Holdings, has launched the 2024 GAC GS3 Emzoom lineup, which now includes two new locally assembled (CKD) variants.

The range topper, the GS3 Emzoom Premium R, is produced at the company’s assembly plant in Segambut and is now sold alongside the Standard and Exclusive variants, also assembled at the same facility.

All three variants are powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo engine, generating 177 PS at 5,500 rpm and 270 Nm from 1,400 to 4,500 rpm. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in eight seconds.

This performance is complemented by a fuel efficiency rating of 5.9 litres per 100 km, allowing the GS3 Emzoom to be recognised as an Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV).

Regardless of the chosen variant, the GS3 Emzoom comes equipped with LED headlights, hidden electric door handles, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The Premium R variant sports a more dynamic appearance featuring an R-Style body kit and R-Style exhaust.

The Standard variant is available in Frost White and Asphalt Black, while the Exclusive variant comes in Salt Lake Blue and Superstar Silver. These colours are also offered for the Premium R variant, alongside the exclusive Graphite Grey.

Notably, Asphalt Black and Graphite Grey are exclusive to the GS3 Emzoom CKD and are not available in any other markets outside Malaysia.

Inside, a blue-black color scheme is featured across all three variants. Standard amenities include a crystal electronic gear shift, multifunction steering wheel with four-way tilt and telescopic adjustment, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, electronic parking brake, and Blind Spot Vision (BSV).

Exclusive for the Premium R are automatic headlights, High Beam Assist, Fusion Automatic Parking, six-way adjustable driver’s seat, ambient lighting system, wireless charging, hands-free tailgate, and a panoramic sunroof.

The pricing (OTR excluding insurance) for the GAC GS3 Emzoom CKD starts at RM103,800 for the Standard variant, RM116,800 for the Exclusive, and RM126,800 for the Premium R.

It comes with a warranty of five years or 150,000 km. However, the first 2,000 customers will enjoy additional coverage with a seven-year or 180,000 km warranty for the engine and transmission.

GAC GS3 Emzoom launched in Malaysia – 2 variants, from RM119k

WTC Automotif (WTCA), a subsidiary of Warisan TC Holdings Bhd, has officially launched the 2024 GAC GS3 Emzoom in Malaysia. The crossover was previewed for the first time back in January.

Offered in completely built-up (CBU), the GS3 Emzoom is available in two variants, namely Exclusive (RM118,900) and Premium R (RM128,900).

However, according to WTCA, they have already commenced production of the completely knocked-down (CKD) version of the car in Segambut.

Set to compete with the Honda HR-V and Proton X50, the GS3 Emzoom Exclusive measures in at 4,410 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, and 1,600 mm in height. Its wheelbase of 2,650 mm is the longest in its segment.

Thanks to the aggressive R Style Sport Package bodykit, the length of the Premium R variant slightly increases to 4,446 mm. It can also be distinguished by the centre-mounted twin-tip exhaust.

Step inside and you will find blue and black leatherette upholstery, a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel, a crystal electronic gear shift, and various amenities such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android phone mirroring, surround-view camera, electronic parking brake with autohold.

Exclusive to the Premium R is the added luxury of automatic climate control, six-way power adjustment for the driver seat, multi-colour ambient lighting, wireless smartphone charger, hands-free power tailgate, Fusion Automatic Parking Assist (FAPA) and a panoramic sunroof.

Ath the back is a rather spacious boot offering 341 litres of storage, which is expandable to 1,271 litres with the rear seats folded down.

Both variants are powered by a 1.5-litre turbo four-cylinder engine producing 177 PS at 5,500 rpm and 270 Nm of torque from 1,400 to 4,500 rpm. Power is sent to the front wheels through a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission.

As far as performance is concerned, the GS3 Emzoom can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.0 seconds, just 0.1 second slower than the X50 TGDi with 177 PS and 255 Nm. Average fuel consumption stands at 5.9 litres per 100 km.

Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) with Level 2 autonomous driving comes as standard, bringing features such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Front Collision Warning (FCW), Traffic Sign Recognition System (TSR), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Intelligent Speed Limit Control (ISLC).

As the range-topping variant, the Premium R gets two additional features, namely High Beam Assist (HMA) and Fusion Automatic Parking Assist.

The GS3 Emzoom is available in four colours: Salt Lake Blue, Ivory White, Graphene Grey, and Super Star Silver.

To commemorate the launch, WTCA is offering a Special Launch Package for the first 2,000 early-bird customers. The package consists of three complimentary scheduled service maintenance (including labour, parts and lubricants), and an added seven-year/180,000 km engine and powertrain warranty.

They will also receive a complimentary limited GAC Smart Watch Key which functions like the original car key with the additional connectivity features of a smart watch.

GAC Emkoo, Aion Y Plus set for Malaysian launch this year

IN addition to the GS3 Emzoom, WTC Automotif (WTCA) also previewed two more models that it will soon bring into the Malaysian market, namely the GAC Emkoo and GAC Aion Y Plus.

The Emkoo is a mid-size SUV that will compete with the likes of the Honda CR-V and Proton X70. No exact date has been given but it is said to enter our market later this year.

On the other hand, the GAC Aion Y Plus is a somewhat futuristic looking electric SUV marketed under GAC’s sub-brand Aion, which focuses on EVs. According to WTCA, the Aion Y Plus is expected to be launched in the first half of 2024.

As you can see, Emkoo boasts a bold and aggressive design highlighted by its V-shaped grille and ‘Eyes of Revelation’ LED headlights. Its interior underlines a digital and innovative concept with a semi-floating digital instrument cluster as the centrepiece.

In China, this model is available with a choice of 1.5-litre turbo, 2.0-litre turbo, and hybrid powertrains. It is still unknown which one we’ll get but rumours are pointing to the 1.5-litre mill, which develops 177 PS and 270 Nm, exactly the same amount of power as the GS3 Emzoom.

Aion Y Plus is built using the GAC Aion Electric Platform (AEP2.0), which the company claims costs around RM2 billion and took 30 months to develop. This platform features the longest wheelbase in its segment at 2,750 mm and a spacious full flat floor for rear passengers.

Not only that, its front seats can be reclined fully to form a 1.8 metre-wide double bed. Rear passengers can also enjoy a legroom of 1,022 mm, which is claimed to be the most spacious in the industry.

In terms of powertrain, Aion Y Plus is equipped with a 63.2 kWh Magazine battery that offers a driving range of up to 490 km (NEDC) or 430 km (WLTP) on one full charge.

GAC GS3 Emzoom open for booking, to be priced under RM130k

WTC Automotif Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Warisan TC Holdings Bhd, has announced that the GAC GS3 Emzoom is now officially open for booking.

According to the company, bookings can be made with a fee of RM1,000, and the first 100 customers to make a booking will be invited to attend a private event.

The GS3 Emzoom is a B-segment SUV that will go toe-to-toe with the likes of the Proton X50 and Honda HR-V. For the Malaysian market, it will be offered in two variants, namely Exclusive and Premium-R, and is expected to be priced below RM130,000.

The GS3 Emzoom features several distinctive design elements such as the Mecha Wing grille, Laser Eye split LED headlights, Light Dart taillights, electric hidden door handles, ducktail rear spoiler, and crystal gear shift selector.

The right-hand drive preview unit comes with 18-inch alloy wheels. It will be available in four colours: Ivory White, Starlight Silver, Lake Blue, and Graphene Grey.

Powering the GS3 Emzoom is a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine making 177 PS at 5,500 rpm and 270 Nm of torque at 1,400 rpm. With a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission driving the front wheels, the SUV boasts a fuel consumption rating of 5.9 litres/100 km.

WTC Automotif has confirmed that the GS3 Emzoom will be locally assembled (CKD) at the Tan Chong Motor Assemblies (TCMA) plant in Segambut, Kuala Lumpur. It is expected to roll out from the plant in the second quarter of this year.

The company has also shared that the first GAC showroom will open its doors in Petaling Jaya in February 2024, followed by five more showrooms in Glenmarie, Cyberjaya, Seremban, Johor Bahru, and Pulau Pinang in the first half of this year.
