2025 Chery Tiggo 7 CSH officially launched – starting at RM129,800

Chery Malaysia today announced the official sales price for its latest plug-in hybrid SUV model, the Tiggo 7 CSH 2025.

Here are some key facts you need to know:

 

Engine

The Tiggo 7 CSH is powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain, consisting of a 1.5-liter turbo engine (143 PS/215 Nm) paired with an electric motor producing 204 PS and 310 Nm of torque.

The total output reaches 279 PS with a combined torque of 365 Nm. Fuel consumption is as low as 5.0 liters per 100 km.

There are three driving modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport.

 

Battery

This SUV is equipped with an 18.3 kWh battery pack that offers an emission-free driving range of up to 90 km.

It supports AC charging at 6.6 kW, allowing a charge from 30% to 80% in just 3 hours, and features fast DC charging at 40 kW, achieving a charge from 30% to 80% in only 19 minutes.

The Tiggo 7 PHEV also supports a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function of 3.3 kW.

With a fuel tank capacity of 60 liters, this SUV can achieve an overall driving range of up to 1,200 km.

 

Dimensions

The Tiggo 7 CSH measures 4,553 mm in length, 1,862 mm in width, and 1,696 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,670 mm.

 

Features

Notable features include 18 inches alloy wheels, LED headlights and taillights, a panoramic sunroof, hands-free powered tailgate, a spoiler, roof rails, and a shark fin antenna.

2025 GAC Emkoo officially launched – starting from RM123,800

WTC Automotif (M) Sdn Bhd (WTCA), the official distributor of GAC in Malaysia, today launched the all-new 2025 GAC Emkoo SUV.

The GAC Emkoo is the second locally assembled (CKD) model available in two main variants: Premium and Premium Pro.

Early customers will enjoy a special offer featuring a cash rebate of RM4,000, as well as a complimentary accessories package valued at RM10,000, which includes:

  • Front and rear DVR camera complete with a 64 GB micro SD card
  • Exclusive Emkoo plates

Engine

This SUV is powered by a 1.5 TGDI engine that produces 177 PS @ 5,500 rpm and torque of 270 Nm @ 1,400-4,500 rpm, paired with a seven-speed DCT transmission.

Acceleration from 0-100 km/h is achieved in just 8.8 seconds, with a maximum speed of 190 km/h.

Three driving modes are available: Economy, Comfort, and Sport. The fuel consumption rate is approximately 6.6 liters/100 km.

 

Exterior

Features of the GAC Emkoo include MacPherson front suspension and a multi-link setup at the rear, LED lighting complete with a Follow-me-Home function, 19-inch alloy wheels, 235/55 R19 tires, and embedded door handles.

It also showcases a V-shaped design on the aggressive front grille, LED “Eye of Revelation” lights, and a turbojet-style exhaust design at the rear, contributing to a sportier appearance.

2025 WMoto EZ125i officially launched in Malaysia – priced at RM4,588

Another model from WMoto has been launched by MForce Bike Holdings, namely the WMoto EZ125i for the Malaysian market.

This scooter is available in four color options: Silver Grey, Grey, Red, and Deep Sky Blue, each priced at RM4,588 (excluding road tax and insurance).

The EZ125i is powered by an air-cooled single-cylinder engine with a displacement of 124 cc, capable of producing 11.8 hp at 7,500 rpm and torque of 9.5 Nm at 6,000 rpm, paired with a CVT automatic transmission and belt final drive.

2025 WMoto Cruiser AMT 125 now in Malaysia – priced from RM5,988

Mforce Bike Holdings has introduced another new model under the WMoto brand, the Cruiser AMT 125 for the local market.

2025 SYM Naga 155 now in Malaysia – priced at RM8,888

Another new model from SYM has been launched by Mforce Bike Holdings, the 2025 Naga 155 scooter.

Priced at RM8,888, the SYM Naga 155 is available in four color options: Matte Green, black, white, and silver.

This scooter is powered by a 149.6 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that produces 14.2 hp at 8,000 rpm and a torque of 13 Nm at 7,500 rpm, paired with a CVT transmission.

2025 SYM VFE 185i lands in Malaysia – priced at RM9,988

The Malaysian motorcycle market is further heated up with the launch of a high-capacity moped by Mforce Bike Holdings, namely the SYM VFE 185i.

This moped is powered by a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder 183 cc engine that can produce 19.7 hp at 9,000 rpm and a torque of 17.5 Nm at 7,500 rpm.

The power is transmitted to the wheels through a six-speed transmission and a chain final drive system.

2025 SYM Cruisym 400i officially launched in Malaysia – priced at RM27,888

Mforce Bike Holdings has launched the latest maxi scooter under the SYM brand, the 2025 Cruisym 400i during the Mforce Mid-Autumn Gala event with a selling price of RM27,888.

Powered by a single-cylinder 399 cc engine, it produces 33.5 hp at 6,750 rpm and a torque of 67 Nm at 5,000 rpm, paired with a CVT transmission.

The scooter’s steel frame chassis is supported by telescopic suspension at the front, followed by adjustable dual shock absorbers at the rear.

The braking system features a 288 mm rotor at the front and a 275 mm rotor at the rear, aided by a dual-channel ABS system and traction control (TCS).

2025 Xpeng G6 facelift officially launched in Malaysia – prices starting from RM178,888

Bermaz Xpeng, the exclusive distributor of Xpeng vehicles in Malaysia, has announced the arrival of the upgraded G6 SUV for the local market.

Orders for the 2025 facelift model of the Xpeng G6 are now open, with sales prices starting from RM178,888.

Here’s a brief overview of the Xpeng G6 electric SUV:

 

Exterior

The exterior has undergone several minor changes, including Starlight Wing LED lights complete with turn signals, a repositioned Xpeng logo, and wheel arch trims that match the body color. The rear features a ducktail design that also contributes to road stability.

 

Interior

Inside, the G6 boasts a refreshed dashboard layout, featuring a 10.25-inch digital cluster screen and a center screen measuring 15.6 inches, supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as the voice command “Hey Xpeng.” Two theme color options are available: Dark Gray and Light Gray.

Additionally, it includes a panoramic glass roof, front seats with massage functions, lumbar support, heating, and ventilation, along with 12-way adjustable rear passenger seats.

 

Variants

For the Malaysian market, two variants of the Xpeng G6 are offered, detailed as follows:

Both variants of the G6 come standard with an 80.8 kWh battery pack, allowing a range of up to 525 km according to WLTP data (510 km for the AWD version). The G6 also supports AC charging at 11 kW and fast DC charging up to 451 kW, thanks to the 800V platform that enables battery charging from 10% to 80% in just 12 minutes.

Vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality is also available.

 

Safety

Standard safety features on the Xpeng G6 include XPilot Assist Driving, which encompasses adaptive cruise control (ACC), lane centering control (LCC), and automatic lane change (ALC).

Additionally, XPilot Assist Safety features include autonomous emergency braking (AEB), driver status monitoring (DSM), forward collision warning (FCW), rear cross traffic alert (RCTA), and XPilot Assist Parking.

Fully imported from China, the 2025 facelift version of the Xpeng G6 is available in five color options:

smart #5 EHD launched in China, priced from RM112k

smart has reportedly begun pre-sale sessions for its largest SUV model, the #5 EHD, in the Chinese market, with prices starting at RMB 189,900 (approximately RM112,000).

Unlike existing offerings, the #5 EHD is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) powered by Geely’s NordThor Hybrid 2.0 system.

It features a 1.5-liter turbo engine (161 hp) paired with an electric motor producing 268 hp and a DHT transmission with three speed ratios.

The lithium iron phosphate battery pack from CATL has a capacity of 41.46 kWh, offering an electric driving range of 252 km (according to CLTC data), while the total driving range can reach up to 1,615 km.

The battery can be charged from 10% to 80% State of Charge (SoC) in just 20 minutes.

The exterior design of the #5 EHD resembles the boxy design seen in the BEV variant, featuring a cluster of 328 LEDs at the front and 196 LEDs at the rear lights.

However, the rear bumper has been refreshed, while the exhaust outlets have been intentionally concealed.

The cabin layout is largely similar to that of the BEV variant, showcasing a 10.3-inch digital cluster display, a twin 2.5K AMOLED screen measuring 13 inches, a 25.6-inch augmented reality head-up display, ambient lighting with 265 colors, and a Sennheiser audio system with 20 speakers.

The cargo space can be expanded up to 1,525 liters when the rear seats are folded down.

The smart #5 EHD also features a lidar unit, 12 cameras, five millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic sensors, along with dual Nvidia Drive OrinX chips to support its advanced driving assistance system, Pilot Assist.

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra makes its first appearance in Japan

Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi has showcased its high-performance electric sedan, the SU7 Ultra for the first time in Akihabara, Japan.

The exhibition event, held from September 26 to 28, also revealed Xiaomi’s future plans.

According to Kyodo News, Xiaomi plans to expand its retail network selling smart devices, home appliances, and mobile phones in several major cities in Japan to strengthen its presence.

Similar to the approach taken in China, Xiaomi will also sell electric vehicles (EVs) through Xiaomi stores, although no specific launch date for the model has been announced.

Currently, Xiaomi has opened two branches in Saitama Prefecture and plans to add three more outlets in Tokyo, including one in Chiba, by the end of this year.

The starting price for the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is 529,900 yuan (approximately RM314,000).

Additionally, Xiaomi has launched a 1:18 scale die-cast model for the SU7 series, priced at 14,800 yen (approximately RM420) for the standard version and 16,800 yen (approximately RM477) for the SU7 Ultra version.

Toyota developing new GR86 using Mazda MX-5 platform?

Through its collaboration with Subaru, Toyota introduced the sports car 86 at the Tokyo Motor Show in December 2011.

The second generation of the 86 known as the GR86, debuted in 2020 with Toyota continuing its partnership with Subaru.

But what about the third generation?

Japanese automotive website Best Car claims that Toyota will develop a new GR86 independently, although it may seek assistance from Mazda to lead the project.

The new GR86 will be built on a new ultra-lightweight platform that will also be utilized for the development of the next-generation Mazda MX-5.

Unlike the approach used for the GR86/BRZ, the new GR86 and MX-5 will feature many differences.

According to Best Car’s report, the MX-5 will remain a two-seater sports car, while the same platform will be slightly lengthened to allow the GR86 to retain its 2+2 coupe configuration.

Both models will also utilize different engines, with the MX-5 featuring a Mazda-made 2.0L hybrid engine and the GR86 using a Toyota-configured 2.0L hybrid engine.

This is not the first time the Mazda MX-5 has served as a base for the development of other manufacturers’ models.

The fourth-generation ND served as the foundation for the Fiat 124 Spider, which features a different design and powertrain, followed by Japanese manufacturer Mitsuoka for the Rock Star model.

Porsche 911 GT3, 911 GT3 with Touring Package now available in Malaysia, starting at RM2.29 million

Porsche Malaysia, through Sime Darby Auto Performance, announced today the arrival of the 911 GT3 and the 911 GT3 with Touring Package for the Malaysian market.

The launch event was attended by Jörg Bergmeister, the Porsche Brand Ambassador.

Here are some key facts about the Porsche 911 GT3:

 

1. Engine

The Porsche 911 GT3 is powered by a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine capable of producing 510 PS and 450 Nm of torque.

The engine has been recalibrated and is equipped with two particulate filters and four catalytic converters to meet stricter emissions standards.

Other modifications include:

  • Reworked cylinder heads and camshaft
  • More efficient individual throttle valve airflow
  • Optimized engine cooling unit

 

2. Transmission

The engine is paired with a choice of a seven-speed PDK transmission or a six-speed manual GT transmission, with the final drive ratio being eight percent shorter than that of previous models.

Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 3.9 seconds, or 3.4 seconds for the PDK version, before reaching a top speed of 313 km/h (311 km/h for the PDK).

 

3. Exterior Design

Several changes have been made to the exterior of the 911 GT3, including:

  • Revised lip spoiler and front diffuser
  • Underbody fins for more effective airflow and improved downforce
  • Redesigned Matrix LED headlights

Additionally, the rear wing of the 911 GT3 now features angled side plates.

A sportier appearance is also enhanced by a reworked suspension system reminiscent of updates from the previous 911 GT3 RS model.

Finally, the 911 GT3 comes with 20-inch front rims wrapped in 255/35 ZR20 tires and 21-inch rear rims with 315/30 ZR21 rubber.

 

4. Special Package for Buyers

For the first time, Porsche Malaysia is offering the Touring Package, which includes a retractable rear wing, a 911 GT3 Touring logo on the rear grille, aluminum rims that are 1.5 kg lighter, and a Gurney flap.

The cabin is adorned with high-quality leather upholstery, optional second-row seating, and a classic sporty ambiance.

The use of a 40Ah lithium-ion battery also reduces overall weight by an additional 4 kg.

In its lightest configuration, the Porsche 911 GT3 weighs just 1,420 kg.

Several other packages are also available:

  • Weissach Package – This includes additional anti-roll bars, connecting rods, and a shear panel for the rear axle made from CFRP. It also includes components like the roof panel, rear wing side plates, external mirror housings, and air fins, while the cabin features Race-Tex upholstery and CFRP door handles. Magnesium rims and a CFRP roll cage are available as options.

  • Lightweight Package – Available for the 911 GT3 with the Touring Package. This includes components such as the balance weight, connecting rods, and shear panel for the rear axle made from CFRP. Magnesium rims and lightweight door panels are also included, along with a Leichtbau plate available on the front of the gear lever.

For the 911 GT3 with a rear wing, the Clubsport package for track use is offered at no extra cost and includes:

  • A rear steel roll cage
  • A six-point harness
  • A portable fire extinguisher
  • Lightweight sport bucket seats

 

5. Exclusive Watch

Porsche Malaysia is also offering an exclusive watch designed by Porsche Design for owners of the 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 Touring.

This chronograph watch features:

  • Rotor winding components inspired by the GT3 rim design

The strap is made from genuine Porsche leather, and color options can be selected through the Paint to Sample program.

In the Malaysian market, the Porsche 911 GT3 and the 911 GT3 with the Touring Package are priced starting from RM2,290,000.

This Corolla Cross twin features unique front design in the Chinese market

Introduced in 2020, the Toyota Corolla Cross has become a widely popular name worldwide.

However, it is important to note that the Corolla Cross has a twin model in the Chinese market known by a different name: the Toyota Frontlander.

Unlike the Corolla Cross, which is produced through the FAW Toyota partnership, the Frontlander is the result of collaboration with GAC Toyota.

Unique to that market, GAC Toyota has made different changes compared to the model offered by FAW Toyota, which more closely resembles the global market version.

These changes include a more streamlined front end inspired by EV models, followed by redesigned rear light graphics.

Significant alterations are evident in the cabin space, where the Frontlander now features a more premium dashboard design.

No longer will there be clusters of physical climate control buttons; instead, these functions have been integrated into a 12.9-inch central screen.

The air conditioning vents are also smaller, alongside the addition of ambient lighting, an 8.8-inch digital cluster screen, and a higher-positioned smartphone charging slot in the center console.

Finally, the Frontlander also benefits from an upgrade to the advanced Toyota Safety Sense safety system.

Similar to the previous model, the Frontlander is available in a 2.0L NA petrol version producing 169 hp that drives the front wheels, as well as a hybrid 2.0L version with 111 hp paired with E-CVT transmission.

The selling price starts at RMB 132,800 (~RM78,575) for the NA version, while the Frontlander HEV starts at RMB 145,800 (~RM86,267).

According to a report by Mingjing Pro, citing automotive industry sources earlier last month, Chinese authorities are in discussions to completely ban fully integrated door handle designs.

Manufacturers will still be allowed to install traditional and semi-retractable door handles, but they must be equipped with mechanical opening support.

Authorities also plan to implement this new regulation starting in July 2027, meaning that all new vehicles sold in China after that date will no longer feature recessed door handle designs.

The discussions also encompass automatic door opening mechanisms, especially in accident scenarios.

This recessed door handle design trend is said to contribute to aerodynamics and allow for longer ranges.

However, recent disclosures suggest that this ‘modern’ feature only contributes to a drag coefficient reduction of 0.005-0.01 Cd.

This ‘advanced’ system is also reported to be heavier, three times more expensive to repair, and has an eight-fold failure rate.

Several incidents were reported throughout 2024 in which these electric door handles failed to function during emergencies such as accidents and fires; there was even an instance where a user became trapped inside a vehicle because they could not open the door from the inside.

Other incidents included electrical shorts caused by heavy rain, which prevented passengers from opening the doors from inside, forcing them to break windows to escape.

In a recent development, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China released guidelines titled “Technical Requirements for Vehicle Door Handle Safety,” which are open for public consultation before finalization on November 22.

Among the listed requirements are:

  • Each door (excluding the trunk) must have an external door handle with mechanical opening functionality.
  • In accidents involving fire, unaffected side doors must be able to open without the aid of tools.
  • Regardless of position, each door handle must provide sufficient operating space for the hand.
  • Each door must feature an internal door release lever with mechanical release capability without tool assistance.
  • If using electric internal handles, a mechanical backup handle must also be provided.
  • Each handle/lever must be easily recognizable, clearly visible, positioned within 300 mm from the door’s edge, and located in specific zones relative to the seating position.

In summary, these new standards focus on three key aspects: regulating the type of door handle structure, ensuring the system remains operable during power loss incidents, and standardizing handle positions with clear safety markings.

5 things you need to know about the Lexus NX350h – first drive

In recent days, social media has been buzzing about the pricing of RON95 fuel under the subsidy program announced by the Madani government.

In these uncertain times, it’s understandable that some more affluent individuals are seeking to avoid the impact of rising fuel prices.

Electric vehicles (EVs) may not be the ideal choice for everyone. So what options are available in the market?

The Lexus NX350h was recently introduced by Lexus Malaysia just a few months ago.

Engear TV was recently invited to experience a brief drive of this luxury hybrid SUV as we headed toward a popular tourist destination in the southern region of the country.

We then stopped at a new lodging location called The Lisbon Melaka to enjoy the fusion cuisine offered there.

Here’s our brief review:

 

Exterior Design

Physically, there is little change in the hybrid variant compared to the NX250 variant it replaces.

Standard features include LED projector headlights, L-shaped LED taillights, and 20-inch rims wrapped in 235/50 tires.

 

Hybrid Powertrain

A significant change this time is the presence of the hybrid power unit.

The hybrid system consists of a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine (A25A-FXS) paired with two electric motors, an E-Four all-wheel-drive system, and an eight-speed virtual CVT.

Overall, the NX350h generates up to 243 hp and 239 Nm of torque, with fuel consumption rated around 5.0 liters/100 km.

There are three driving modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport.

 

What About the Cabin Space?

The NX350h’s cabin retains the standard NX layout, reflecting the Tazuna philosophy.

A 14-inch central screen is positioned facing the driver to facilitate menu changes and temperature adjustments throughout the journey.

In fact, Lexus generously retains physical dials for switching driving modes.

The 360-degree surround display system, complete with a ‘transparent’ floor view, makes maneuvering in tight spaces easier.

Drivers are also accompanied by a wireless Apple CarPlay map display, as well as captivating audio from a 10-speaker sound system with a powerful subwoofer.

In addition to a standard black color, buyers can also choose the Dark Rose color trim seen in the unit we drove.

Notably, one unique finish on the door panels is the 3D Cutting Black texture, which stands out under sunlight.

 

Hybrid Driving Experience

In our opinion, the Lexus NX350h is ideally positioned for those who are still hesitant to switch to EVs.

With an efficient hybrid system, long-distance travel can occur without the need for frequent stops at gas stations.

Based on our brief drive, we found that the Lexus NX350h confidently dominated the right lane of the highway at stable speeds, while also maintaining responsive acceleration.

Furthermore, when switching to Sport mode, the power delivery felt more vigorous, easily outpacing segment B sedans that boast speed.

During this spirited driving experience, the Lexus NX350h recorded fuel consumption of around 6.6 liters per 100 km, with a remaining driving range of approximately 480 km.

Interestingly, this hybrid SUV also recorded zero-emission driving over 50%, while the fuel gauge only dropped two bars.

With a more moderate and relaxed driving style, you might even achieve a greater range.

One advantage offered by the Lexus NX350h is its premium, quiet cabin atmosphere throughout the journey.

Engine noise is still present, but more akin to a purr than a roar.

2025 Proton X50 facelift got enhancements that address past shortcomings – first drive

I still remember the first time I tested the Proton X50 a few years ago—just as the COVID-19 outbreak was beginning.

Excited by the design changes introduced, I was disappointed by some weaknesses resulting from the badge transition and the shift from left-hand to right-hand drive.

Proton however did not remain idle.

Several improvements were made with the introduction of the MC and RC models, gradually addressing those weaknesses.

Now, with the launch of a major facelift model a few months ago, Proton has finally managed to offer a more valuable choice in the subcompact SUV segment.

But is it significantly better and capable of overcoming the shortcomings of the previous model?

Recently, Proton invited us to test drive the X50 facelift, allowing us to experience and evaluate what’s behind its bolder appearance.

Here are our initial impressions:

 

1. Appearance

Based on comments on social media, many netizens have expressed their views on the aggressive look of the new X50 facelift.

Is the X50 too aggressive? Many might agree. Just look at the front bumper, the new wheel design, and the bold rear wing.

I believe it’s a refreshing change, especially considering the X50 has been around for several years without major modifications.

Throughout our drive, many eyes were on this SUV we were piloting as it cruised down the road.

 

2. New Engine

Yes, the most noticeable change, aside from the exterior, is the completely new powertrain. Gone is the three-cylinder inline engine; welcome the new inline four-cylinder engine.

This 1.5-liter turbo unit can now generate up to 181 PS and 290 Nm.

According to Proton, this new engine is more fuel-efficient, as evidenced by our daily drive from Proton’s headquarters to Ipoh, where we recorded around 7.4 liters/100 km in fuel consumption.

After driving over 250 km (in varied driving conditions), the estimated remaining range was around 440 km.

Certainly, this X50 facelift is much more economical than the previous model.

 

3. True Proton Driving Experience?

Our journey this time didn’t focus solely on highway driving.

Instead of relying too heavily on Waze, we preferred taking back roads to better assess the handling of this popular SUV.

Honestly, what this X50 facelift offers is truly beyond expectations.

The steering input is much livelier, and the driver doesn’t need to correct course frequently when navigating curves.

The suspension tuning also feels closer to what I expect from a Proton model.

It’s comfortable, not overly bouncy, and has more confident handling.

Even though this test session was relatively short, it genuinely impressed me with the facelifted Proton X50.

 

4. Cabin Like an EV, But…

The cabin of the X50 this time features a layout reminiscent of the Proton e.MAS 7.

It looks tidier and simpler without the presence of physical function buttons, while the PRND gear shift knob has been moved to the steering column to make the center console appear more spacious.

However, this simplicity means that some important functions have been relocated to the infotainment screen.

Honestly, I would have preferred essential functions like temperature control and driving mode selection to remain as physical buttons for easier access.

It’s not a major issue for those who don’t mind such changes.

After all, everything can be controlled via bilingual voice commands in English and Malay!

But there are times when the system takes a bit longer to comprehend what the user is saying.

Also noteworthy is the significantly better NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) compared to the previous model.

There is still wind noise at certain speeds, but it’s not too pronounced. Tire noise is also present due to varying road surface quality across regions.

 

5. Appreciated Features and Areas for Improvement

For the X50 facelift, several new features are appreciated, especially for long-distance driving, such as:

  • Wireless Apple CarPlay support
  • A center air vent that can cool down charging smart devices
  • A sun visor
  • Bag storage in the center console tunnel

Area for improvement for the X50 facelift:

  • The driver’s seat cushion could be improved, particularly at the thigh support area, to reduce fatigue during long drives.

 

Conclusion

Based on a short drive from the Klang Valley to Ipoh, our conclusion is that the 2025 Proton X50 effectively addresses the weaknesses of the previous model.

It isn’t a perfect SUV, but this offering appears significantly better and more suited to the tastes of Proton enthusiasts.

2025 BYD Seal 6 launched in Malaysia, priced from RM100k

BYD Malaysia has just launched another electric sedan model for the local market, the BYD Seal 6 2025.

With this launch, Malaysia becomes the first international market to receive the Seal 6 after China.

Here are some key facts you need to know:

 

1. Platform

The BYD Seal 6 is built on the same e-Platform 3.0 used in the Sealion 7 model. It features a single rear-wheel-drive electric motor setup, with a weight distribution ratio of 48:52, contributing to sportier handling. Additionally, the Seal 6 is equipped with a MacPherson strut suspension setup complemented by a multi-link system at the rear.

 

2. Dimensions

The Seal 6 is categorized as a C-segment sedan, measuring 4,720 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. Its cargo capacity is 525 liters, consisting of 460 liters in the rear and a front trunk (frunk) of 65 liters. Moreover, there are up to 24 storage compartments available within the cabin of this sedan.

 

3. Exterior

In terms of design, the Seal 6 presents a more elegant appearance compared to the sportier Seal model. Its features include LED headlamps, semi-hidden door handles, LED taillights, and rims sized from 17 to 18 inches. The aerodynamic body design contributes to a drag coefficient as low as 0.28 Cd.

 

4. Interior

The cabin of the Seal 6 incorporates a simpler and more minimalist design compared to the existing Seal model. It includes an 8.8-inch digital cluster display, a 12.8-inch central screen, voice command support in four languages (English, Malay, Mandarin, Cantonese), an automatic climate control system, and CN95 and PM2.5 cabin air filters. The center console also features a 15W wireless device charging slot.

7. Safety

As standard, the Seal 6 is equipped with six airbags, a seatbelt warning system, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), Auto Hold function, a 360-degree surround monitoring system, and hill-start assist.

Active safety features include automatic emergency braking (AEB), forward collision warning (FCW), lane departure warning (LDW), and high beam assist (AHB).

 

8. Launch Promotions

In conjunction with the Seal 6 launch, BYD Malaysia is offering warranty packages as follows:

  • Six-year or 150,000 km manufacturer’s warranty

2026 Nissan Sentra makes its debut in America

Nissan has introduced the new generation of the C-segment sedan, the 2026 Sentra, for the United States market.

Unlike previous models, the new Nissan Sentra features a fresher design, reminiscent of the Nissan Ariya electric SUV, particularly at the front.

Here are some key facts you should know:

 

1. Chassis

The new Sentra retains the CMF-CD platform from the previous model, albeit with larger dimensions. It measures 4,656 mm in length (+15 mm), 1,825 mm in width (+10 mm), and 1,448 mm in height (down 2 mm), with a wheelbase remaining at 2,712 mm.

Despite using the old platform, Nissan has improved the chassis stiffness, which is now 6 percent stiffer, alongside dynamic dampers in the steering system to reduce vibrations.

The suspension system now features new shock absorbers.

 

2. Engine

There are no mechanical changes, meaning the 2026 Sentra still comes with a 2.0-liter engine (code MR20DD) that produces 149 hp and 198 Nm of torque. The power is channeled to the front wheels through a CVT Xtronic transmission.

 

3. Design

As mentioned earlier, the 2026 Sentra showcases an evolution of the V-motion design, resembling modern Nissan models like the Ariya, Note, and Qashqai.

The LED projector headlights are slimmer, and the daytime running lights will appear dark when turned off.

The lighting unit of the Sentra will also emit rhythmic light when the car is unlocked.

The side does not feature the floating roof element anymore, while the rear showcases a new wide horizontal light design.

Depending on the variant, the Sentra can be equipped with wheel sizes ranging from 16 to 18 inches, as well as a two-tone color scheme with a Super Black roof.

 

4. Cabin Space

The interior of the Sentra presents a tidier and minimalist layout, featuring twin 12.3-inch displays, touch-sensitive climate control panels, and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Other features include a 64-color ambient lighting system, heated steering wheel, wireless charging slot, and TailorFit upholstery.

Depending on the variant, the Sentra can be equipped with features like wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity and a Bose audio system with eight speakers.

 

5. Safety

The 2026 Nissan Sentra offers standard safety features such as intelligent cruise control, blind spot intervention, autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure avoidance, and a total of 10 airbags.

2026 Toyota GR Corolla upgraded for the Japanese market

As a fan of high-performance Japanese cars, you should express your gratitude to Akio Toyoda, a key figure at Toyota.

Akio, affectionately known as Morizo, believes that motorsports serves as the ideal platform for developing the best street cars.

Thanks to his vision, we now see one of the key Gazoo Racing model, the hot hatch GR Corolla now receiving a new enhancement package without a long wait.

Here are the changes introduced to the GR Corolla:

  1. An increase in chassis structural adhesive from 13.9 meters to 32.7 meters for a sturdier and more stable chassis, capable of handling vertical and lateral G-forces.

  2. A new cooling duct has been added to the second air intake, aimed at stabilizing engine output under high-temperature driving conditions.

  3. The JBL Premium audio system has been improved with the addition of a subwoofer in the cargo area, complemented by the Active Noise Control (ANC) system.

  4. Additionally, the Active Sound Control (ASC) system enhances the sporty sound profile during acceleration and deceleration. Even when the throttle is released, this system generates a pop from the exhaust.

In terms of power, the 2026 GR Corolla continues to feature the G16E-GTS engine, capable of producing 300 hp and 400 Nm, paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic.

For current GR Corolla owners, Toyota Gazoo Racing will introduce a software-inclusive upgrade program designed to increase torque from 370 Nm to 400 Nm.

The GR-Four drive system will also be upgraded, with the distribution ratio of 30:70 being replaced by a Gravel mode (50:50), while the Track mode (50:50) can be adjusted to 60:40 and 30:70.

In Japan, the 2026 Toyota GR Corolla is priced starting at ¥5,680,000 (RM161,000) for the manual version and ¥5,980,000 (RM169,000) for the automatic version.
